After more than a few sub-par bottlings from recent vintages, this helped me remember everything I love about Lapierre. Nice medium body, full of spicy red fruit and a nice acidic snap. A serious wine that's fun to drink.
Rather fruity nose, cherries, strawberries, slightly flowery, hints of animal and herbaceous notes, slightly smoky, some dungheap. Overall somewhat developed and rather Burgundian. Palate with red berries, minerality, good acidity, some tannin. Fine balance and rather ready in development. 89 p.
This is the N (for "non-sulphité") version, as opposed to the lightly sulfured S version. The N or S is found on the back label.
