A Vin Jaune is not everyone's cup of tea. But I'm a huge fan of the oxidative style of white, and I truly enjoyed this one. Nose and palate are rich with caramel, honeysuckle, citrus, seashore, pipe tobacco, and musty wine cellar. Served with the traditional Comté cheese, it was a delightful Christmas afternoon wine, one that fit the moment and a hyper-relaxed pace to the day. Loved it.

Notes très aromatiques et très oxydées au nez. En bouche, la texture est grasse, mais cette note oxydée domine le tout. Bon dans son genre, mais difficile de le marier à table.

Pale golden in colour. Strong aromas of pear and slight hints of peach. buttery and nutty on the palate, bone dry. complexity and quite long nice finish

Jura, Puligny Montrachet and Champagne; 9/8/2013-9/20/2013: From 37,5cl. This "Chardonnay" may indeed have a high proportion of the aforementioned grape in its blend, but I bet there is at least 15% Savignin in there and it completely dominates. Sour, acid, sharp, cutting... and not as lifted or mineral as the best blends of its kind. Nonetheless, not a bad wine, just not anywhere near what one might reasonably expect from a "Chardonnay" (even from the Jura). Hard work. 85P

Oxidate nose showing muted bright almost citrus fruit. A mixed palate, very acidic, lemon fruit with a underlying minerality. Needs food for sure...
