(Long Shadows Saggi Red Wine Columbia Valley) A moderately aromatic wine with high toned notes of sour cherry, fresh herbs, saddle leather, coffee bean, and barrel spices. The palate is soft and supple with a compelling mouthfeel and rich fruit flavors that draw out on a tart, lip smacking, chocolate filled finish. High on the delicious scale. 62% Sangiovese, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Syrah. Candy Mountain, Boushey, Horse Heaven Hills, and Wahluke Slope vineyards. 14.60% alcohol.

Decanted off the moderate sediment.
62% Sangiovese, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Syrah aged in 55% new French oak.
The nose shows well integrated scents of ripe cherry, wild berries, cranberry sauce, baking spices, cigar box, leather, herbs, dark chocolate, coffee and floral pastilles.
Smooth entry onto the palate with polished and fine tannins. Acidity is structures and the ABV is medium-plus. Flavors coat the palate in spice laced berries, plump dark cherry and cranberry sauce with notes of herbs, tobacco, leather and toasted oak with hints of chocolate, espresso beans and earth. The finish lingers pleasantly.
