13.9% abv. I've not tried many Smith-Madrone Cabernets (just one other, actually - a 2007 last year) and have heard that they're long-lived Cabs that need age. Well, this was very similar to the 2007 - fairly lean and acid-driven, with no sign of lush and ripe fruit that often characterizes the region. There was a noticeable frame of oak here as well that I did not find that attractive. Overall, just not a very impressive CS, in any style. I guess these need more than 15 years to strut their stuff? Maybe so - I'll hold onto my remaining bottle for a while longer.

Consistent with previous notes 2.5 years ago. Still a youngster with great life ahead. Paired with seared filet off the grill. Drink 2022 - 2032. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Opened and let it breathe for about an hour plus. First taste was dark fruits, some mineral. Very good offering from Smith Madrone. Still have a couple bottles. Drinking well now, but could cellar for several more years most likely.

Drank this after a 2007 Revana. Very structured. Revana overshadowed it.

Outstanding Napa Cab with all of the usual characteristics. I am glad I waited on this one as it is drinking great and opened up soon after uncorking.
