Delicate on the nose with floral note but surprising powerful on the pallete given the lighter nose and age. The fruit sneaks up on you and builds through the mid-pallete. The wine still feels well structured and improved after an hour in the decantor.

Medium amber-yellow color. Somewhat oxidized. Raisins and prune on the nose. Nice mouthfeel with medium finish. With air the apricot aromas started to really take over. Unfortunately this bottle definitely over the hill.

(Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche) Medium brown color with clear meniscus; mature, prune cake nose; overly mature tart prune and smoke palate, with concentration; medium-plus finish (fades quickly in the glass)

Bring Your Special Bottle Night (Crown Wine Cellars, Hong Kong): Very disappointed, but the bottle was completely oxidized. Was obvious from the color, which was a pale pink. Will continue waiting to taste a La Tache.
