2012 En Primeur - Kelly and Kevin’s excellent adventure; 4/4/2013-4/9/2013 (Bordeaux, France): This is the first bottle of mature Silex of my life. First nose, I was speechless. Extremely fresh complex nose of steel, mint, sweet spices, anise and lemon. Beautiful energetic palate with exceptional concentration and minerality. It is fat but still remains precise. One of those special wines that combines subtlety, precision, complexity and core energy. This special experience is very similar to drinking a great mature yet fresh bottle of Clos Ste Hune or Coulee de Serrant.

Tasted blind, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose generated lime, wax, apple, and smokey notes.
In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with light, fine grained acidity, excellent balance, and very good length.
This really developed well and appears like it will last another 10 years or so. Drink over this time-frame. Impressive!
