Excellent showing. Lots of desert fruit loaded with Zanzibar spice. More refined than the straight Fonseca style with a wonderful vinous character and crackling acidity that contrasts the charred, earthy, mellow signs of age. Should make the 60yr from vintage mark without problems!!

Dreary damp autumn required some Vintage Port to brighten the mood! Significant meniscus from its age. Has all the desert spice and fruit elements of the straight vintage but in a more vinous frame and (relatively) lighter and dryer finish. Holds up well in stoppered decanter for sipping over a few evenings. Won't improve but should be fine for up to 60yrs from vintage based on these bottles.

First port of the autumn. Nearly two years since last opening this sq port and still holding up superbly. As per earlier notes displaying much of the classic Fonseca desert fruit and spice character but in a more vinous, elegant and dryer frame. Watch out for the sediment!! Superb. Sticking to my 2027 drink-by date.

The cork was so loose that it fell into the bottle at first contact and had resulted in weeping down to top shoulder through the waxed seal. However, remarkably, the wine was still in perfect nick and matched my earlier notes. Superb sq vintage port that holds up well over three or four days in a stoppered decanter.

Port Wine Day Masterclass: A Flight of the '60s (Six Senses Douro Valley): Nutty, funky, and a little oxidized. Showing its age, and a bit angular overall. Weighty body, with fig, raisin and spice. Finishes sweet, with fine, spicy tannins.
