Wow, this was a fantastic bottle, brought to dinner by a relative. Expansive nose of dark fruit, cinnamon, wood smoke, and the clearest scent of tobacco I've ever had from wine. Nice, soft, sweet dried tobacco leaves.... Had to sit and breathe this one in for a good five minutes before finally giving in to take a sip. Similar flavors, with a very rich body, but not overwhelming or jammy. The flavors slowly and subtly expand to fill your senses, leaving you enveloped in a soft, shimmering cloud of crimson and purple. The finish lingers long, in fact maybe it never ends but just ever slowly fades to some infinitesimally small but non-zero value (like a half-life). It went really well with a pork loin stuffed with mushrooms and bacon - caught the smokey bacon flavors nicely. I will now be seeking out Ridge zins to try to leave in the cellar for 15 or 20 years...

Wow, this was a wonderful wine with steak. A little less pepper than expected, with nice acidity. Dark and red fruits that had a hint of pungency. I wish I could have kept this bottle on our side of the table, but eventually it ended up getting around. What a good wine for the money!

a luscious and eminently lovely wine. while the nose is a bit muted, black fruits are followed by charcoal and then a wash of acidity that leaves one wanting another taste. if this is what ridge zins become in 15 years, I need to buy more. a lot more.

I think a bit too old now, very little fruit. A lot of secondary notes
