Tart, citrus, butterscotch, green beans, and a touch of sweetness, but this literally reeked of liquid chronic... the skunky kind. Rating this would be unfair given its age.

Good medium colour. Very strong asparagus nose, with some garden peas mixed in. Unusual. Vegetal, green on palate - with beans and that asparagus still coming through in the mouth. Fascinating.

With Liz, Bud, Don, Lottie and Jake with Fish with two sauces (roasted red and yellow pepper sauces). A great match - a fab wine.

with Al, Richard, Toni, Graeme and Jake - see Graillot Crozes-Hermitage 89 and Geyserville 1990. Excellent textbook SB - lots of power and depth. Wines drunk at party: Selaks Marlborough SB 1994, Selaks Founders Reserve SB 1994 (oak aged), Clody Bay SB 1994, Graillot Crozes-Hermitage 1989, Ridge Geyserville 1990, Yalumba Rutherglen Muscat. Possibly my best meal.
