  • Such a sound 2011. This bottle disappeared in a matter of minutes so I didn't get a chance to write any notes but the speed at which it got consumed was a good sign. Should be good for many more years to come.

  • From 75cl, perfect cork, opened but not decanted 1 hour. Best after 90 minutes, warmer than expected (i.e. near room temperature of 21C). Healthy PN with no particularly distinctive or exceptional characteristics, but on the level I'd expect from a good German Spätburgunder producer at 20-25 EUR/75cl, or in NZ for 25-30 EUR/75cl (with more acid zing, of course) or in California e.g. the entry-level offerings from Au Bon Climat at 35 USD+tax/75cl. Which is roughly the price I paid for this bottle. All that context is intended to prepare the ground for the following cold shower: of course, this is a muted affair, refering to heights of pinosity experienced elsewhere but not reaching them. There are reminiscences of bright acid, bright red fruit and textural delight on the mid-palate, but it does help to be in Marcel Proust mode (or to have had a few drinks beforehand). Nice wine, ready now, but no hurry. 88-89P.

  • Turns out Dujac is pretty good. WHO KNEW. Ready to drink now - great nose, very complex, and an unfolding taste that is never massively complex but spicy and engaging. Great balance. I have always been skeptical of whether I could blind taste any sort of wine, much less something as subtle as Burgundy, but I think I could pull a Dujac from a line up now. That nose and that flavor profile are pretty unique.

  • Deep, rich, exuberant and slightly funky nose with hints of fruit pastille. Really good weight in the mouth; there's a concentration that could be 1er cru level. Very good length; just a smidgen of grip on the finish. This is a rather opulent wine for a villages; not lean or austere, just bags of sweet fruit. As you can probably tell, I'm impressed. Went very well with pasta with a veal and porcini mushroom sauce.

  • Charming and seemingly open at this stage. Feels like it could go a few more years but I think I'll drink my other bottle sooner rather than later.
