  Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (R&R's): Double blind. Aromas of dark fruit, herbs and spice along with a lovely perfumed floral undertone. Full-bodied, with medium tannins and flavors of mixed red and black fruit and fresh herbs. Drinking very nicely at the moment. (J&J)

  Double decanted three hours before service. From an original case bought on release. This is an outstanding wine that is still getting better as it ages. Opaque red with no sign of age. The nose was eucalyptus (although that might have been the scented candle our host was burning somewhere in the house) and leather. Great black fruit. Still very young. Hold for a few more years before opening the next bottle.

  At 12 years old I must state that this is still a terrific Cabernet. Tasted from a magnum. Thanks to Bob D for bringing this one.
  
  Dark colored in glass it begins with vanilla on the nose and interestingly lacks any forward fruits. On the palette the wine shines. A melancholy cherry fruit is the immediate note with a background of vanilla. Mid palette the wine delivers a tomato leaf flavor and bell pepper. The finish is a little closed and dry on the tongue.

  Flower Day - decanted off virtually no sediment. Some wine to the top of the cork along one seam but otherwise only about 1/2 a centimetre of ingress. Garnet core out to a slightly developed edge - no browning but showing a change in colour. Nose is very dark fruit with some light tobacco, new leather, spice and red flowers. Very soft on the palate with rich dark fruit, spice, leather, and cigar box. The finish is long with warm spice, dark fruit, tobacco and leather. This is perfect tonight.

  A bit muted at first on the nose but opened up nicely. Nice dark fruit and menthol on the palette with a small to medium finish.
