This opened up tannic and lacking fruit. I would have guessed cheap brunello. Over time it did improve, although it never made me think Napa cab. This paired very well with Piedmontese sirloin steak - seemed to add depth and fruit. After the meal, meh. I expect more from a Napa cab, even at the JJB closeout price. I don't see this improving much with age.

Nice reddish purple color. Very dark fruits on the nose, and also on the first taste. Blackberry, black currant and a little herb of some sort. Balanced tannins, and it feels more like a non-California cabernet in it's weight. It has a precision to it that makes you enjoy drinking this wine. It was even better about 45 minutes later with a filet that had some cracked black pepper. Very nice Monday night wine experience.

Better than the bottles drunk in 2014. Aromatically this showed as Napa cab, although the flavor profile was tighter, even after air time.

An acceptable but not too memorable napa cabernet.
