Opened and sipped over 2+ hours with dinner of prime rib, mixed vegetables, salad, and mashed potatoes. Dark cherry color. The nose is soft and sweet, bringing caramel, oak, graphite, minerals, cherry menthol, and red hard candy. The palate is big, full and almost syrupy in texture and viscosity (not in a bad way), bringing loads of plums, chocolate, more caramel, candied strawberries, and hints of cherries into the finish, which is concentrated, chewy, and toasty. Overall, a nicely balanced wine meant to drink young-to-medium term with BIG food. Drink now-2021.

Honey and camphor on the nose. On the palate, raspberry, blackberry, white pepper, cocoa, and a caramel note on the medium finish. Although this is fairly spicy, it is less intense than most of the Zinfandel I have been drinking. The honey/caramel element is odd, but not unpleasant. Well-balanced and interesting; very good value for the money.

Light without much fruit. Almost felt like a Pinot noir.

This reminded me of a baby Ridge at a much better price. Exhibits dusty fruit and well tempered spices.
