  • PnP. ABV 13.5%. First of a 6x sourced from secondary market in London years ago. High-filled and good label but Durand couldn’t save the last portion of the cork. Clean and floral nose, very nice. Soft and fine tannins, bright acidity fairly typical of the vintage. Svelte and feminine, all about elegance rather than power. Deceptively long finish. Very good bottle of Beze and not far from ‘93 Rousseau Beze. Another beautiful showing of ‘93 Red Burg as expected.

  • Opened and decanted due to a crumbling cork and significant sediment. Light translucent red with mild fading but no browning. Smoky dark red fruit and enticing spice give way to more high toned green aromas later on with more air. Medium to lighter bodied, pliant, and subtly sweet. In the mouth, the fruit leans more toward strawberry bolstered by excellent tart acidity, a dash of soil, light green herbs, and little in the way of interfering tannin. Complete, balanced, poised, and confident. A marvelous Gevrey Grand Cru that draws you in more with its elegance than power, and at a glorious point now. We thoroughly enjoyed this!

  • Jadotfest 23 - Table Domaine Gagey (Noizé): Some discussion as to whether it was faulty. Definitely some VA there - it *did* improve in the glass, but not to the point where it should have been. Had I ordered this in a restaurant I would have sent it back.

  • 2023 Jadotfest (Noizé, London): A sense of 93acidity and prickliness here. Earthy meat on the nose. Jury split here between those that think it’s off, and those who expect it to open in the glass (it does). A silkiness but a fair a,Lunt of interest too, though not at the heights of a bottle at the 18 Jadotfest. ****

  • Lovely, classic Burgundy nose of strawberries, forest floor, with floral notes and good complexity. Nice acidity with red berries, more forest notes, tart fruit, and still quite a bit of structure on the palate. Long finish. This was really lovely and drinking well, but I still get the feeling that it would be better in another 10 years given the structure. 94+
