  • Darker than before. A bit one dimensional, but still enjoyable. Pipe tobacco and dark cherry.

  • Chilled, popped, poured, and decanted. Light red color with purple tinges at edges of swirl. The wine was chilled for 30 minutes in the fridge before serving (as recommended for Beaujolais) so the nose did not develop until the wine had warmed in the glass and the decanter. The nose was light but pure fresh cherry with candied cherry undertones. The palate is very light with cherry and red apple flavors developing early and finishing with the faintest hints of spice and mocha. Almost no tannins, 13% alcohol, and moderate acidity that cleanses the palate quickly and gives the wine its light structure and mouthfeel. Very light, very easy to drink, and before you know it you will have emptied the decanter!

As per other tasting notes I got no earthy, spicey, or chocolate on the palate nor any noticebale tannins. This wine may be at the end of its drinkability period (5-6 years) but I definiyely look forward to trying other vintages and crus to compare.

Overall alight, fruity, enjoyable, easy drinking, warm weather wine. A great date wine as well as my fiance said "this wine goes down too well" as she finished it off. The fruit is light and not jammy or over the top like a new world fruit bomb; fruity but not sweet. Hard to rate as Beaujolais as this was my first. As a light style wine comparable to young American cabs and Aussie Shiraz I rate it a B+. (CMS)

  • Light bodied, but very nice fruit. Good pairing with roasted chicken. No as good on the next day.

  • This has evolved into a very nice beaujolais. Black cherry, pipe tobacco and dried herbs in a medium bodied frame. Good balance of acidity and a decent length finish. Still has a good dose of tannins that may not disappear before the fruit does. Might have a couple of years left.
