A wonderful bottle. Some VA punches aromas of apricot jam, vanilla, coconut and lanolin into the nostrils. It is rich, sweet and heady. There’s so much going on and it is so luscious ands sensual, The finish has plenty of orange rind bitterness and length is impressive.

Last of 2 750mls. Same presentation as my bottle from June. This bottle had a little seepage on the top and the cork was mostly disintegrated, but the Durand did the trick and the wine was pure. The nose is rich with bitter apricot pits, saffron, honey, caramel, amber. The palate is quite viscous and rich - similar to a very old px sherry that I recently tasted. It is moderately sweet - by no means cloying - with a wonderful bitterness on the finish, adding complexity. The finish is long. This is a wonderful wine.

The color was very dark - really showing its age. The wine was incredibly fresh, with an exuberant nose and loads of delicious fruit and a very long finish.

The wine looks caramel colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is full. At the end, it was probably a few years past its prime... but it was delicious.

High orange acidity, orchard florals, a subtly substantial wine. 93-94
