Sweet cherry fruit and juicy acidity, offset by some pretty dry wood tannins that dominate a little on the finish. You can taste the alchohol on the finish - a little unbalanced at 14.8%, but with nice sweet fruit - have to think, this wuuld have been one to drink young. Some mature hints on the nose, but not enough complexity to merit a high score.
Still a bit closed. I was a bit worried about 14.8% alcohol hoping it wasnt over the hill.. Opens up quite nicely after a few minutes of air. Milk chocolaty berry aromas. Still showing a lot of ripe berry fruits on the palate and chizeled tannins.. Very nice and will hold up for a few more years.
