Ripe dark fruit, silky tannins. The warm vintage comes through here for sure, but still manages to be quite elegant and restrained. Beautifully aromatic, rich and powerful, this is certainly a very tasty Latour, even if it falls a bit short of the more iconic vintages.

Stunning nose with pot-pouri, black and dark red berries, spices; fairly rich mouthfeel, still present ample tannins, dark and somewhat brooding but a lot going on. Most preferred the Lafite, but just a different profile. EWG retrospective tasting dinner at Conrad's

Full bodied, elegant and beautiful in the glass, open knit offering aromas of forest floor immediately upon pulling the cork. Could not be in a better place with typical flavors of dark fruits, cedar and tobacco, anise. A beguiling complexity. From a double magnum on NYE.

Fortunate to taste this wine at 20 years of age, I do not recall this as a thrilling experience. If this wine would be a portraiture of its owner, it would be at the gym, a mega godzilla bodybuilder trying to lift 200 pounds in a scream. Glad I did not buy it.

Fathers' Gathering (Sushi Nakazawa): Expressive nose displaying ripe rich black fruit, crème de cassis, crushed blackberry, blueberry, a hint of plum, red flowers, licorice, lead pencil, cedar, light caramel, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of riche black fruit, silky and fluid, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, very fine tannins, and a long ripe black fruit driven finish with a hint of cedar and lead pencil at the end. It still shows a bit of the 03 ripe fruit. The fruit expression is almost Napa yet the overall expression is uniquely Bordeaux.
