Difficult at open 5 pretasted, no funk, just no nose. decanted 2.5 hours tried again with several others. Fruit was coming out, still thin. Most thought over the hill. Remainder of wine about 8 OZ sat in decanter over night and we had with dinner following night.
Beautiful: Leather and Vanilla on nose. bright red friut in front and long delightful 2 plus minute finish

A decent wine, red fruited, with a nice weight to the acids. Cherries. A little tannic grip. A bit floral and medicinal. Delicate, but came on steam with air, and this is at a decent place for drinking - not over the hill.

Drank in honor of my friend, Mike Rakestraw, who passed away 4/22/09. The bottle was old and dusty but the contents were vibrant and maintained an eloquent taste through the finish. A bit acidic without losing character. A perfect description of wine and man. R.I.P.

Enjoyable mature wine that had some class and elegance.
