  • No change from my last note. The wine was astringent with a burnt rubber taste and a thin astringent finish. Bottle was not drinkable. Happy to be done with this wine/this vintage.

  • Starting to show a mature profile but still with life in it. Beautiful red and dark fruit still present but showing the mature autumn profile

  • Last two bottles have been undrinkable. Not corked, just tart, thin and dominated by pitch and tar smell and diesel fuel flavors.

  • I agree with recent reviews that this wine is just about past it’s awkward mid-teen state and is on the right path to full maturity. On opening there was some sneaker-shoe rubber smell and a little green twang. It was then decanted for 3 hours in a 3.0L ships decanter. The color is medium garnet working its way to light without any bricking or browning at the rim. The nose was a tad shy but spoke to vanilla, strawberrys and cream. The initial impression in the mouth was juicy but somewhat underripe blackberries (like, if we leave them for a few days they will sweeten, but who can resist the juicyness). subtly tart raspberries and a hint of citrus followed by sticks and dried leaves, light vanilla and cream. Finish is smooth and “floaty”.

It will be interesting to try this wine again in 2024 - 2026. I am not sure what it will become, but it will not be unpleasant.

  • Beautiful and mature, classical Bordeaux bouquet with vanilla and dark as well as red berries. Same on the palate, autumn impressions, a bit rustic, well dosed oak, good acidity and still somewhat sticky tannin.
