Plenty of youthful fruit and good acidity here. No need to search and search for something green everyone thinks you need to find in a 2004 (I think a lot of people convince themselves it has to be there because that’s what they read about “all of the’04s”). None here. A genuinely good wine but not great.

A very good 2004 without any green / steaminess on the nose, aromas of chalky mineral, floral, black cherry, earth and this is still quite reserve. The palate is high in acidity, with some stemmy greenish but good vibrancy and bright red cherry with mineral lead to a med finishing. Not bad a all for a 04 village.

Round, earthy, spicy, and a bit hot. Tangy sweet cherry with an edge. Good coverage across the palate with light, tacky, teeth coating bright tannins. Too acidic on finish. Dense coffee, leather. Chewey oak. Has a lively warm quality to it. Silk needs to come forward, wood needs to mellow. Young with potential to improve. B

Taste very similar to En Champs, but more sourish and a little less refine.
Into its drinking window now.
