Ridiculously good, secondary with hitting just a bit of tertiary magic. Classic Burgundian in style with obvious extract and gobs of great material- sous bois, beef stock/meat juices, etc. Slightly chewy tannins. Hitting a sweet spot, for sure and no rush.

This has lost more than a tad of its youthful exuberance; rich secondary fruit in gutsy Gevrey style and just starting to show tertiary notes; a touch of attractive barnyard, this has smoothed and balanced out into a gorgeous wine. Loads of life still in it. Xavier94 guessed “gran cru” so I think he liked it. 93+

Mid red, medium bodied good length and mouthfeel. It is well balanced and gentle and though clearly a wine of pedigree it does lack that bit of character and is just a bit one dimensional and predictable. Maybe it will get more complex with age but 19 years should have shown more if that was to be the case.

This was an especially youthful bottle, tasting partner guessed it to be an ‘05. Barely secondary nose of rich red fruit, exotic teas, cranberries, soil- inflected, tree bark, hints of blood orange.
Purity and power still there on nose and palate; muscular structure on this bottle leaves it a bit “clenched” right now. Plenty of guts to it, would love to be able to dial it ahead 25 years, I bet it would be gorgeous (and it certainly has what it takes to get there). Day 2: shockingly nice softened nose of raspberries and violets, unclenched, balanced. Yum! Patience Grasshopper.

(Geantet-Pansiot Gevrey Vieilles Vignes) This was nice but not to my style. Very sleek and polished with no hard edges. Proper acidity and ripeness but lacked excitement.
