  Light golden on pouring it out which was immediately promising, then a hazelnut and butterscotch nose. The oak and sweet vanilla is so integrated and soft at this point leaving the acid to balance it to a succulence on the finish. I was eager but disappointed on a previous bottle a few years back, but this fulfilled my hopes for this bottling. Not sure what to recommend since this is from the premox era so it is probably a 50/50 chance on a bottle pleasing giving the cost, but a great Lafon seems worth the risk to me.

  Light lemon color. Sweet vanilla aroma. Some hints of pineapple. Overwhelming vanilla with peach overtones.
