Upon opening there was little to no nose, we had thought it might have even turned. After decanting for about 3 hours it began to open to reveal a subtle aroma and taste of cherries. Very structured. Probably could have benefited from a far longer decanting. Ready to drink ASAP

Acker Merrill '80 Red Burgundy dinner at Tocqueville, NYC: Acker '80 Red Burg dinner at Tocqueville, NYC. Quite firm at first and some (including me) thought it was corked. But whatever that aroma was blew off and the wine softened some with more time in the glass. There is gorgeous cherry fruit underneath but this is very structured compared to the other Rousseau's and may benefit from more time in the cellar. 91+

This wine is showing very well. Impressively muscular and powerful while being elegant and precise. Tannins still there and contributing to this broad strength. Great medium++ finish. Not a surprise for a Grand Cru Rousseau!
