  • Good, but a little Bretty and a step down from a previous, cleaner bottle. Lots of funk and spice and earth and mushroom, soft tannins, still some nice red fruit. A pleasant older Burgundy but the Brett makes this show a little too mature and tired than I would prefer.

  • Decanted off sediment and served immediately. Sweet red cherries, lots of mushroom and sous-bois character, some earth and beef blood. High acidity at first but the fruit unfurls with air. Complete and long but not super-concentrated, with unresolved tannins remaing that are just a touch rustic but not drying and that smooth out with food. Not especially powerful, more elegant and staley in character everything is nicely integrated. No reason to wait here, this is a lovely aged Burgundy.

  • Drunk with Barbara & Betsy & Ronnie on my brief stay in SF. This opened a little funky and had a dusty texture on the palate. Within 20 minutes it pulled itself together with a nice meaty, beefy cherry flavor, sous bois, earthy mushroomy nose ever evolving. Resolved tannins and drinking perfectly. A delightful wine.
