Tasted blind. Amazing wine, the nose is opulent full of blackberry jam, some greenness and lots of tobacco soft sweet tannins and wonderful mouthfeel. Tasted next to the 2001 Barton which wasn’t nearly as good.

A little bit over the top… but improved after an hour in the carafe. Very classic on the nose so it was easy to recognize the classic Bordeaux. But nothing to save. Drink up.

Savoury fresh and tannic with flavours of cedar and blackcurrant but slightly marred by a hint of Brett. I loved the spiciness, structure and development on the palate through to a long lasting finish. The balance and weight were just perfect. A beautiful claret that would have scored even higher but for the “B” word. CHP 93 pts

Aromas leaning towards light red with leather, pencil, pepper and pine needles. Tannic, structural and a bit sturdy on the palate, which reflect the old fashioned style at the chateau.

Korken var veldig dårlig og gikk i oppløsning så fryktet det værste… Men var ikke oksidert men med fortsatt mye frukt. Deilig rik aroma. Fin lengde. Men er nok nå litt over toppen. Drikk opp
