Pleasurable GMS blend. Definitely masculine and still tannic, but then 2005 did this to all euro wines. Black tea, blackberry, black asphalt, just hella black I guess. I know global warming is killing these wines but this one squeeked out before I think. Good wine and great for 25 bucks.

Way too early to open even at 9 years of age. Really wound up tight with rough tannins right from the start. Mouth puckering finish. Very dark color with dark ripe fruit, iodine, sage, earth and tar notes. I like it but 6 hours of air still was not enough for this to unwind.

Camphor and lemon citrus on the nose; on the palate, dark fruit, iodine, leather, and touches of anise and black pepper. The mouthfeel is almost oily, and the wine is nicely balanced, although I prefer slightly more acidity. This is open for business, but it can certainly go for several years more. At $22, this was a real bargain. I may look into picking up some of the 2010. Edit: This was equally good on the second day. I believe this has just entered its peak and will hold on for quite a while.
