Definitely showing its age but in a good way. Lovely old champagne with lots of fruit still albeit a little stewed. Orange pink color with fine bubbles. Long finish.

Very fresh on the nose with a lot of primary fresh red fruits. Some tertiary notes starting to appear but still very fresh with aggressive acidity and a balanced mousse. Nicely balanced wine with a long finish

A private tasting and dinner (Champagne Pol Roger, Épernay, France): Tasted blind. Mature pélure d’oignon colour, orangey, pin-prick bubbles; wonderful earthy and mushroomy Pinot Noir complexity, clearly from a riper vintage, candied fruit, wonderful lively freshness, dried fruit on the finish, good length. Drink soon.

Ripe red berries, some hints of citrus and dough on the nose. Palate carries some developed notes, but clearly room for more development. Good concentration, however a bit brisk and with some rough edges that perhaps could ware off with some further cellaring. 91-92p for now.
