nose - smoke, mesquite mouth - complex, intense, slightly bitter, cornucopia of fruit flavors. not really napa nor bordeaux in terms of primary style. Rather in a league of its own. increasingly i find opus one to be unique amongst napa wines. the patriarch states that if blinded he would have guessed it to be a montrose.
