(Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle) Deep garnet with a magenta rim. Aromas of wet earth, game, menthol, and cedar, with blackberry fruit in the background and a hot alcohol in the foreground. Firm tannins backed by noticeable acidity. Although the wine is somewhat closed now, it has a complex finish and a well-focused structure. Terroir: Hermitage

Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. From JERO, much more open then last year and really impressive. Spice, ginger, pepper, meat, earthy. Very grand.
