  • Was actually an Altero so not officially a Brunello DOC, but WOW. Light and expressive. Smooth with floral aroma. Ruby red with cherry flavor. Beautifully aged at 22 years. Very unique and probably the last bottle on Earth but hey it was a delightful experience!

  • Bitter and sour straight out of the bottle, this evolves quickly into leather and dried cherry with notes of orange peel. Finds its place perfectly at the dinner table, with the high acidity cutting through to bring all it's mature Sangiovese pleasures. A fickle wine, a little unsteady with age but able to hit the right notes given the chance. 93

  • Grapefruit skin, dried cherries, leather and flowers, this is drinking a lot better than the last bottle. Gushing mouthwatering acidity complements melted tannin and fine but full cherry and raspberry fruit. Perhaps a little too sharp with time in the glass but this is very good. 93

  • Pine, sandalwood, cherry, leather and rosemary on the nose. A relatively full body of bitter cherry fruit with bracing acidity and a dry, star anise finish. Initially arid but with slow air opens up beautifully. A lovely wine, perhaps showing its 21 year age but this has enough balance and flavour to please. Still dry enough to be a truly food wine. 92

  • Dominated by bass notes of tar, earth, and tobacco, this was perhaps a little past its prime but quite enjoyable with dark berry flavors. Drink up.
