  • Where to start. If I was drinking this blind, I'd guess it was a big, hot, flabby wine made with super ripe Grenache and/or Mourvedre, but not Pinot Noir. The nose smells of vanilla, bark and smokey ripe fruit. The initial palate tastes like dusty fruit, and here comes the oak. I coulda sworn there was splinters in my mouth - I would measure this bottle in board feet. It lacked any finesse, energy or interest, just a boorishly big sloppy bottle full of oak tannins and super ripe fruit. Not my style and for the price they charge for this wine be sure you know that before you pull the trigger.
