  • Really in a great spot! Opened 3 hours before, decanted at 90 minutes. Deep color, no fading, great structure, cassis, dark plum, thyme, and black pepper. Great concentration, well integrated tannins, drinking very well with a lot of life ahead of it. Purchased upon release and temperature controlled cellar since. Continue to open up over several hours. Very enjoyable, but I will wait a year or two before trying the next bottle.

  • My goodness this wine is drinking beautifully. Still a full bodied wine, so much structure and brawn. Very dry, with a wonderful nose of cedar and pine, leather and urine. Nice acidity and mouth drying tannin, still has oak present but it all come together so we’ll. Very long, lingering finish. Great wine.

  • Still purplish-ruby to rim. Fresh and fulsome aromas of currant, red licorice, pomegranate, roses, and brown sugar. Currant and red berries illuminate the palate and the 14.5% alcohol bites but doesn’t yet overwhelm the structure. It does unfortunately impart a perceptible bitterness that strongly flavored food subdues. The wine has enough sweetness and fruit structure to make it enjoyable now but it may succumb to the high alcohol in the not-too-distant future. Enjoy soon.

  • Nose of forest floor, black pepper. Drinking perfectly Definitely at peak. A lot of barnyard funk, mushroom up front, pencil shavings, graphite, dried cherries on back. Nicely balanced, not much tannin left. Drink up.
