  This wine is just delicious. In the nose glass the color maintains a deep reddish purple color. At the edges a slight brikish color has developed which is indicative of what is to come. On the nose this wine wafts out of the glass with a delicious scent of smoked meat, dried blackberry, mint, wet soil, and a faint scent of wilting flowers. Much of the pleasure of this wine is from its perfume that gives you 70-80% of what a great bordeaux nose is. On the palate the acidity and freshness is still there while the tannins have certainly softened and are quite elegantly crafted. On the palate there is a bit of roasted tomato (which gives a silky-sweetness to the tannins) and a bit of minerality which is typical of right bank wines. Though much of the fruit is somewhat gone (there’s faint blackberry fruit and roasted lemon flavors) the wine is still pleasurable and delicious. At 13.5% abv you can definitely feel the weight especially after the wine has been open for awhile. It’s not hot by any means just a present alcohol flavor on the back end a bit. This wine is certainly at maturity and will drink well for another 5-6 years. For $22 from WH LA this is also a great value. Overall: 90

  tremendous value. easily in its drinking window if not still a bit young. still cloudy with a fair amount of sediment but lots of secondary flavors balancing the fruit.

  Blueberry, blackberry, cassis, nice subtle spice and cinnamon. Sticky, clayey tannins felt heavily on the upper gums, tongue, and roof of the mouth. Notes of sweet tobacco and licorice. Cork had a strong TCA smell, but fortunately and surprisingly the wine itself was not effected. Not an extraordinary amount of length to the finish, but a delightful wine.

  Favorite Chateau for us and this bottle did not disappoint. Clearly at its prime and I don't believe there is much runway left for this Bordeaux. Dark fruit, nice finish and really nice. Time to enjoy this wine - we will drink our last bottle within the next year.
