Tiny Lou's Four Course Wine Pairing (Atlanta, GA): Four course wine pairing with friends at Tiny Lou's in Atlanta. Paired with various apps: salad, beef tar tar, fois gras, deviled eggs, bread and butter. The champs was served a bit warmer that I normally like but it was still refreshing and delicious! 2019 base (66%) Rest from 2010-2018. Disgorged 2022.
Bouquet of stone fruits with some lemon zest, also some mint comes to mind as well as nice brioche creaminess. For a more or less entry level Champagne this represents good value.

Nice texture, with fine little bubbles (not that I’m any expert here). Aromas are lemon curd, a brioche and buttered toast character that is almost more shortbread, golden apple, and just a little lavender, putting me in mind of one of my favorite treats in my early 20s, a lavender ice cream sundae with lemon curd and shortbread cookies. Shockingly specific, actually. And pretty darn good grower Champagne.

(NV Pierre Gimonnet & Fils 1er Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvee Cuis Champagne) An aromatically appealing wine with brioche, spice, and lemon. The palate is lighter in style, nuanced, and flavorful.
(NV Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuis) Light green-tinged yellow color with steady, tiny bubbles; almond, ripe pear nose; tasty, poised, almond, ripe pear, mineral palate; medium-plus finish (80% 2010, with reserves from 2009 (9.8%), 2008 (4.2%), 2007 (5.2%) and 2002 (1%); disgorged 11/12)

(NV Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Cuis 1er Cru Brut) ($56.00) “Cuvée 133;” a very recent disgorgement (2/11) and quite thorny until it recovers. 72% ’08, 13.3% ’07, 3.3% ’06, 7.5% ’05 and 3.9% ’04. This will be very fine; more overt fruit than last year’s ’07-based cuvée; the finish is classic Gimonnet, refined and complex. Available until mid-Autumn, to be followed by an ’09-based wine, rounder and more open at first glance.
(Pierre Gimonnet Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuis 1er Cru Cuis) Nowhere else do the récoltant-manipulant wines shine as hypervalues as they do in the vintage category. It doesn’t hurt that ’02 is one of the finest vintages of the last half-century. Here, Gimonnet’s skill with Premier-Cru-as-Grand-Cru-worthy Chardonnay is on full display. This bottling’s emerging style of utterly silken elegance above all—above even the obvious midpalate ooomph and the laser-powered, mineral-coated acidity, promising many years of unfolding layers of complexity—makes it a perfectly regal tipple to toast the finest occasion right now. Hot Picks

More brioche and toast and richness to it. Just plain more, and better than I've had from the house.
