Cork in terrific shape with only a 3/8 inch run. Fill to above the neck. Barnyard fnose appeared initially but quickly evolving to typical Bordeaux nose of damp forest floor and especially cedar. Not much fruit on the nose but there is complex red fruit on the palate supported by sweet fully resolved tannins. Silky mouth feel and a 30 second finish peaking at 2 hours open. Fruit is plummy. Some hints of chocolate and matches well with dark chocolate. Lovely wine.

Medium ruby, translucent at the edges. Somewhat grassy, floral nose with plum and graphite to boot. Palate is smooth and suave with a good cut of acidity. Floral hints remain, with a dry, slightly bitter profile that is deliciously savoury. Moderately long but feeling a bit thin on the end. Still present but very smooth and integrated tannins. A delicious and satisfying aged claret. Good for food, but not bursting with flavour as it might have been ten years ago. Still, a pleasure.
