  • In my cellar for around 10 years...some casual Italian tonight at home pulled this on a whim. First bottle from this purchase. Decanted for 20 minutes, drank over an hour.

Deep purple/garnet color, clear, no real separation. Nose showing dark fruits, tobacco. Palate showing currant, plum, cassis, cocoa. Was a bit pruned on mid palate early in the tasting, as it opened that smoothed out. Really singing at 45 minutes in...:) Rich and viscous texture, full body, medium/long finish

Nicely aged, in a great place showing no signs of fading. A bigger, more full bodied wine than expected. Made in modern Spanish style. Would pair with red sauces or savory dishes (would be fantastic with steak). One bottle left - will have to look for more of this...

  • Still purple. A little reticent on the nose, sensed graphite, cedar, blackberry. Fine sediment in the glass. Pretty dark fruit and a stiff backbone. Good drinking window, but no rush

  • Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Popped and poured, drunk over three days. Clear, deep, inky ruby color with some purple reflexes. Clean, pronounced and developing nose. Tobacco, lots of cassis, slate, tar, espresso, dark chocolate, herbs. Wow! Very complex, deep, dense and almost intoxicating.
Dry, high, racy acidity that balances the high alcohol (~15% abv) extremely well. Never felt signs of hotness in the wine, which surprised me a lot! The high tannin is mellow and very fine grained.
On the palate an orgy of cassis and plum juice. Very pure fruit, not cooked/stewed. Fine oak, lots of chalky mineral notes. This is a very deep and dense wine, but it is also juicy, fresh and very well balanced. The finish is also very long and complex. Wow! I expected something more bold, broad and hot and was so pleasantly surprised! Drinks beautiful right now but has the potential to age for another decade. 94+

  • What a beautiful bottle of wine. Very well integrated. Fruit is ripe and delicious but not over extracted. Finish is shorter than we'd like, but that's really just quibbling around the edges. Highly recommend.

  • Tremendous presence and density, powerful fruit, and just awesome intensity. Still in love with this wine.
