Has improved considerably since one year ago. Is drinking very well, fleshy yet sophisticated with black cherry, blackberry, cigar box and other secondary characteristics. For new world cabernet fans, joy in a glass. Drink or hold.
Corked bottle, but: this wine has put on quite a bit of weight since we last opened a bottle. Seems a bit sappy at the moment and had it been a good bottle I'd be saying "needs more time". It will be a lot more interesting when some secondary nuances from further maturing kick in.
Not much nose, maybe a bit of mint mixed with nondescript berries. But the mid palate is reasonably rich, and the finish is very nice, with plenty of tannic grip and decent acidity, and is the reason for the high score (without it, this wine would be nothing).
Dark, dense red. The nose reveals ripe blackcurrants and blackberries mingled with cholcoate and mint notes. Medium to full body with pleasant and ripe tannins. The most distinctive characteristic of this well balanced Cab is its long, spicy finish. Drinks beautifully now with potential for at least five more years.
