This was a nicely balanced wine with a good acid component. It had nice fruit and some sugar. It did not have the effervescence that I associate with Gerwurtztraminer. It was more like an Alsatian Riesling. It was drinking well. The dinner consisted of Peking Duck and a spicy eggplant and tofu dish. The wine went nicely with this menu.
Deep golden color. Honeysuckle, sugar, and apple on the nose. Thick and unctuous with a bit of apple, apricot, and honey. Could use slightly more mineral flavors and/or acid to balance the sweetness. Very long, 45 second plus finish.
