My first Dance with the mistress that is Domaine de la Romanée-Conti!
Opened and decanted roughly 4-5 hours before consumption.
Deep garnet red with lighter edges.
Incredible nose with Rose petals, spices and aged red fruit, mushroom and a lot of green herbs and bell pepper. At first it doesnt show any age at all. Really youthful. However as it develops in the glass and opens up a bit it starts to shows more aging signs.
On the palate you get lots of red fruit, forrest floor, spice, some smokey and bloody notes and the acid is absolutely stunningly balanced with the fruit. The palate is much more youthful than the nose. Magic glass of burgundy. Balanced tannins but still with an edge. 1998, a rather weak vintage, made this good is exceptional.
Surely there is some brand hype here, but what a glass!

Sommelier Appreciation Dinner 2020 (The Brown Residence): Really masculine and structured Burgundy. Cherry, strong cedar, white button mushroom, only a hint of sous bois and earth. Very good concentration, a bit angular, still noticeable tannins, good acidity, earthy mineral and a medium to long slightly dry red fruit driven finish. For my palate, it still needs another decade to gain additional tertiary notes.

Vosne spice aromatics. Complex flavour with quite a stylish finish. In line with house style but falling short as a DRC. Better showing than previous bottles.

Started a bit tart with strong barnyard aromas. Got better with time and came together a bit. But agree with others, not a TOP level DRC.
