Really improved over the last 18 months. The wine seemed to gain some weight, and is smooth, medium bodied, with nice dark fruit, mineral and earth flavors. Very good stuff.

Berry and cedar aromas. Nice clean flavors of boysenberry and earth. Hint of tobacco in the finish. Balanced, correct, and enjoyable, but not terribly complex. Very good wine, and much better than most of the domestic competition, but the price tag is high. For example, Domaine de la Patience makes a very similar (and perhaps slightly better) merlot that sells for half the price.
Day 2: Greatly improved. Increased aromatics and greater depth of flavor and complexity. This was opened one hour before drinking on day 1, looks like I should have opened it even earlier.

Not impressive upon opening, dark fruit and wood aromas, not complex or interesting. With air the wine improves, showing some minerals and a crackling quality to the tannins and acids. It still is not all that interesting, but it is better than most Merlot I've had. I may not be a Merlot fan...
