Coravin fun - Corton (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Savoury, slightly woody; cedar, sweet spice, fruit a little underpowered for the oak component and shows as lightweight; sweet blackberry and blueberry. Juicy, fleshy, clean, again I find the oak is slightly too much for the fruit…it's not an oak bomb by any stretch of the imagination but just a bit out of whack.

Very impressive, sturdy, healthy tannin and yet with transparent purity. Quite bold character, but with class and uplifting showing in the backend. My only question is if the healthy tannin will resolve with the fruits over the years. If yes, that would very well be a transcending wine in the making. If not... well, it would dry out. I still have a few bottles left and will keep posting on this. It would be very interesting. It went beautifully with Low temperature roast beef, at 63 celcius over 3 hours. Cheers,
