past its prime. Nice middle palate, no length...

Terroir perfect fruit still there
Good nose and front fruit. Weak in the middle and hardly any tannins left. Good flavor but was on the downhill slide.
Very good. A bit more subtle than I expected, but was perhaps due to bottle storage. Definitely on its way downhill by this point. Nice finish, great nose, very food-friendly. Had with grilled steak.
Shafer Hillside Select Vertical Dinner (1989-2002) (California Club, Los Angeles, CA): This wine is past its prime IMO, as the secondary characteristics have completely eclipsed whatever sense of fruit there may have been. Nose of leather, cedar, and jalapeño pepper. Tar, wood, and acid on the palate.
