  • Cold rainy Nite in MSP but all was good at St Genevieve tonight! My clear red of the night and an ongoing reminder how great the '01 red vintage has been for burgundy! This has it all classic Chambolle lace & silk, red fruit, spice, mineral, earth with a lovely aromas of roses and underbrush on the nose. 95+ Beautiful stuff!

  • Heidi's Gang: The White Burgs Reign (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Medium red color. PNP, drank a glass over 90 minutes. Sappy fruits, cherry notes, dried flowers, cigar wrapper on the nose. The palate shows the same sappy red cherry, blood orange, cigar, Asian spices, medium plus body and length. Excellent.

  • Wow. My WoTY thus far (in fact my best wine ever), and if I were to drink a wine at this level anytime soon, I would be singularly blessed.

Red cherries, violets and the slightest hint of toffee on the nose. This was so exquisite, so full of finesse - it was like drinking pure silk. The tannins were mainly resolved, but the acid seemed to suggest that this could last for another 10years at least. Such a feminine, ethereal wine.

    Wow.

  • Fantastic bottle. Grand Cru weight. Soaring nose of pure fruit and soil. Surprisingly rich, but not heavy at all. This bottle seemed younger than previous. A wow wine.

  • A Burgnut's Burgundy; Very pure and airy, textbook Chambolle with soil tones, a hint of bitter cocao and very pristine red fruits. Seemingly light, but the greatness of the Terroir comes through on the sappy palate. Slightly crunchy acidity and completely rounded tannins give this medium-bodied wine a very elegant profile. While it's light, it doesn't lack for any flavor or persistence. Showing great right now, but the fruit is still quite primary. I don't expect any more volume, but further cellaring should bring some added complexity in the flavor department. Easily approachable today with a good amount of air.
