Le Cinq Legends Dinner 2018 (Le Cinq Restaurant, George Cinq Four Seasons, Paris): WOTN for me (among a stunning once-in-a-lifetime line-up). I could not get enough of the aromas and could have sniffed this all night long. Unbelievably bright. Orange peel mixed with smoke. So complex, so beautiful. It doesn't get any better than this

Truly a baller night – 09 & 11 Coche CC, 02 GC reds, 47 La Tache, 04 Bollinger VVF & 23 CV (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown): The color was pretty promising through the bottle, ie clear and red. We were praying for an out of body experience but what we got was a tired lean wine with noticeable VA. We adouzed for three hours but it didn’t help. Rather light and lacking fruit. Recently purchased from a London auction. Complete waste. Although I didn’t make the wine, I felt so bad.

A Mid-1980's Tasting of Twenty One Vintages of La Tâche (1945-1980) (Private residence, San Francisco): Washed out color. Oxidized on the nose, caramelized flavors.
