  • From my cold, Danish cellar where it has been since release. Pristine bottle of old Zin goodness! To the notes below I'd like to add, that it had pronounced blackcurrant aromas. Really a great bottle. This one had at least 5 more years left in it. 92-93 points.

  • Intellectually I know this was probably better a few years ago, but darned if you could prove it by this bottle. Bright berry nose. Raspberry, cranberry on the palate, touch of spice. Fruit is still lush with a touch of elegance. Tannins are still firm, nice acidity and balance. Moderately long finish of red fruits and spice. Lovely at 14 years old. However, I'd drink within the next 2 years.

  • Rich concentrated fruit in the nose and flavor. Blackberries, black raspberries, licorice, floral, earthiness, and some spice. Full bodied wine with a medium to long finish.

  • juicy, ripe but with excellent balance, blackberry and violets, sweet plum toward back, with time - more brambly, zinberry and great long finish. mature but no sign of slowing. this is an excellent Zin.

  • PNP - started showing its stuff after about 45 minutes- real palate complexity after about two hours. Color is deep garnet with hints of purple fading to a clear rim. Nose needs some coaxing, maybe some sous bois, hints of strawberry jam, floral. Palate is complex and evolves; jammy, mulberry, blackberry, some hints of blue, some hints of strawberry, vanilla, burnt sugar- definitely some herbs and bramble leaves. Bright acidity and ripe tannins. Long, fabulous and complex. Paired with grilled chicken, farro salad with root veggies and arugula, and roasted baby beets with butter.
