  • Olive, black berry and saddle leather with some tannic finish.

  • I was very impressed by this. Not showing a lot of bricking on the rim. Nose is still full of fruit, currant, blackberry and black cherry fruit. A little wood, some herbs. On the palate it is nicely balanced, sweet currant and dark cherry fruit. Pretty dry tannins but with some sweet cherry acidity. Overall a very tasty wine - great with food and without - drinking at about peak glad I opened it now and wish I had more.

  • I thought this was excellent. Had right after a 2005 Lewelling Wight, which was smooth, resolved, and a little too easy. This was still young, vibrant, had a good tannic grip, and was the more interesting wine. Wish I had more.

  • Great dark color. Nice fruits on the nose. Very smooth tannins and a long finish. Decanted about an hour before dinner. Went wonderful with grilled steaks.

  • Lovely, festive wine for a holiday soirée 🎄🕎✨Botched the opening a bit and the cork disintegrated. So it goes. Used the ah-so to pry it out. Strained and decanted into a gallon Ball Jar, let it marinate, meditate, breath, mature 🧘 for about 30 minutes before the guests (and me) got restless.

She was a gorgeous wine.💃 She was confident in her maturity. She was serving heaviness 💪 but we could handle it. She was serving those tannins up front 🫖 she was smoking the tobacco in the back🔥she was giving the plums, the holiday spices 🎇 and she was oh so coyly sprinking a faint hint of summer strawberry 🍓 a smooth ride, a deep ride 🎢 enjoy my friends

(RAMEY Larkmead Cabernet) Ramey Cabernet Dear Friends, We don't often carry Napa Cabernet but when we do there's a reason. Old school meets new school in this muscle-bound exciting wine that has the real potential to age for years (more akin to a 1978 than a modern, easy-drinking oak bomb). This wine is not meant for drink-now consumption and it does not apologize for a wonderfully ripe tannic structure with masses of fruit to match. The only thing light about this wine is its price - moderate by today's standard for the upper crust of Napa (scary that $50+ is moderate). If my intuition is correct, this Cabernet is going to provide a wild, layered complexity for those with a cellar and the time to allow the transformation to occur. It would also be a good choice as a birth year wine if you are looking for Napa Cabernet to lay-away until a 21st birthday. Burly, full of spice and incense with a gritty grape extract component just waiting to evolve, the 2006 is not a vintage of "finesse" like 2004 - it is a powerful year that will repay the patient but it will almost certainly outlive the same example from 2004, 2005 and 2007. Impressive: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 2006 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon "Larkmead Vineyard" Napa Valley (you can check the 2005 for a broader price comparison, the 2006 is up slightly in price) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA CA9290
