Still singing. The tannins are still providing a solid backbone for this wine and it could have aged a while longer. After some air it began to soften. The peppery element is very apparent. Quite tasty.

additional complex nuances have developed since last year, bacon finish still remains, excellent sharp peppery flavors when you first open the bottle, settles into ripe raspberries with a peppery finish. excellent QPR - drink now or hold for a few more years

Consistent with prior notes. A star for the price. Peppery nose with sage and toast. Plenty of fruit underneath with an acidic light weight palate, but concentrated and complex. The oak treatment stood out a little more tonight, might need some more time to integrate.

Trip to Napa/Sonoma; 11/7/2009-11/14/2009 (Napa/Sonoma): Quite unique. Peppery now with a distinctive citrus/grapefruit character that I've only ever gotten from Rosella's vineyard Syrah. Acidic but balanced palate, chewy tannins, with a fantastic finish of mineral, citrus, charcoal, and mocha. Fantastic.

Another fantastic sleeper. Syrah in a bordeaux bottle had me skeptical. Super classic euro-styled syrah. Light mouthfeel, low alcohol, and an even tannin profile. Complicated enough to drink alone, but delightful with food as well. Had it with rosemary garlic rack of lamb and ratatouille.
