  • My last bottle of this wine. Big graphite and muted fruit which to me caused it to be a bit out of balance but none the less an enjoyable bottle.

  • Tasted Blind - this was a Bordeaux tasting with a Rudd ringer, and I mistook this for the Rudd. The color was deep purple with black ink swirling in the depths - very curious. Sweet purple fruits and violet floral notes on the nose. Double-decanted, but still tight with raspberries along with vanillin on the finish. Delicious, and the wine of the night according to the group.

  • Blind tasting, red wine flight 3 wine #6. Dark garnet with youthful crimson hue.
Fresh lifted nose, elegant, lots of tobacco, cigar box, blackcurrant and nice ripe fruits.
On palate, medium bodied and elegant mouth-feels, exhibits earth, blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, some herbaceous notes and subtle tobacco. Some hints of sweetness showing good ripeness from the fruits. Long lingering finish with fine chewy tannins. Drinking very well now but it will continue to improve.

  • Hmmm. Will this knit together? I'm not sure - today it was disjointed and rough. Coarse, heavy extraction with too much new oak for its own good. Almost Californian in its composition. It has a bawdy kind of appeal, but the Pessac isn't really coming through here and that's a problem. So if all of this ruckus integrates and lets PESSAC come through, it might work. But I wouldn't bet good money on it. Maybe I just got a bottle out of the Parker barrel.
