  • Fairly youthful color. In the nose, this is restrained, but fragrant at the same time. It's a really typical Morey St. Denis with a fruit somewhere between black cherry and strawberry, hibiscus, elegant, but not as airy as a Chambolle and not as earthy as a Gevrey. In the mouth, this is really well balanced, invisible tannin, but great structure in the background, light, minimally stemmy, very floral, super lovely and long finish.

  • Initially a dominant green nose made the wine unappealing. But in the mouth, the texture was fine, fruit was a mixture of red and black and the length was sufficient.
Most of it was left till the next day. The nose was still very different. Today, the green tinge had subsided. It was more brambly, almost with blackberries, and caramel! The fruit was still present, but there was nothing memorable here.

  • Great clarity, super smooth. Some mushrooms, mulch and dried rasberries on the nose. Palate is meaty, fine tannins and a decent finish.

  • Drinking something different with Mario at ViaVélez (General Perón con Zorita in Madrid) after that Rioja tasting event.
Thinking at first it was le Grand Cru (so bad...) this was what it is, an unpersonal Burgundian wine. A PN for civil servants.
Let me explain: Everybody think Morey-St.Denis has lower personality among Cote d´Or. I have to agree.
Closed nose, far away from a fragant wine.
Palate is meaty and woody. A ugly surprise for a 06.
However, it had that bitter finish I really love. Nothing spectacular neither to be remembered.
